  1. Fatty and processed foods:

    Chocolate, white bread, fast food and other foods that are processed make you perspire. Your body needs to work extra hard to process these foods causing you to sweat extensively while you eat and while you digest.

  1. Almonds and milk

    For this you will need 1 tablespoon of almond powder and 2 tablespoons of raw milk. Mash these ingredients together until they make a paste, then apply it to your face and other dry skin areas. Leave it on for 10 minutes before massaging it off gently with water. Milk can keep the skin hydrated while almonds are bursting with vitamin E and essential fatty acids that act as exfoliators when applied directly to the skin.

  2. Yogurt and buttermilk

    Zinc, calcium and vitamin B6 are all enzymes found in yogurt. These enzymes cleanse the skin and help lighten the appearance of blemishes. Buttermilk contains lactic acid that acts as a peeling agent to get rid of dull, flaky skin. It also gets rid of the itch that goes along with dry skin. For this remedy you’ll need 1 cup of yogurt and 1 cup of buttermilk. Mix them together and leave on your skin for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with water.

  3. Petroleum jelly

    Most people have tubs of petroleum jelly lying around the house, making this home remedy an easy one to do. Simply apply the petroleum jelly (often known by its brand name of Vaseline) on your dry skin and massage it for a minute or so until it absorbs. Petroleum jelly can also be used on the lips because it is an emollient, perfect for getting rid of the cracks and peeling our lips suffer during the colder months.

  4. Olive oil and egg yolk

    Eggs aren’t just for omelets. Egg yolk is rich with Vitamin A and lecithins that can help correct dry skin. When mixed with olive oil, the egg yolks, combined with the natural antioxidants from the olive oil will make your skin so hydrated it’ll glow. You’ll need two egg yolks and three to four drops of olive oil, applied directly to the face at least twice weekly to achieve that glow, but it’s worth it. Mix the two ingredients together, put it on your face for about 20 minutes, then wash off with water.

  5. Lemon and honey

    You will need half a lemon, 2 tablespoons of honey and a cotton ball. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, add to the honey and mix well. Apply the mixture to your dry skin with the cotton ball and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with water. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, and combined with the honey’s anti-inflammatory properties this mixture helps to soothe that itchy dry skin the winter brings.

  6. Banana mask

    With half of a banana and 1 teaspoon of honey, you can create a soothing facial mask that’ll lock in moisture. Mash the banana and the honey together until there are no lumps. Apply this mixture to your face for about 20 minutes and then rinse with water. Besides nourishing your skin with vitamins C, B6 and A, bananas also have anti-aging capabilities that fight the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
